Hello and Welcome my new friends. You’re here because you really want to find out if I can be the one to benefit your life in some way. Most likely you’re beginning to evaluate alternative methods of receiving the lifestyle (health, wealth, time freedom) you desire, maybe you’ve already started your journey in the home business world, or you’ve achieved some level of success but you’re looking for a quantum shift in your results.
Personally, somebody can have the greatest content in the world on their blog, but if their personal story isn’t effectively delivered or doesn’t resonate with me on some level, I’m less likely to come back to their blog. I have a feeling that many off you who were promised the world by getting a J.O.B., will relate to my story. I don’t believe in coincidences and so I don’t believe that discovering this industry of changing lives one at a time by giving people the vehicles & supportive environment to win, was by chance.
See you’re story doesn’t have to be the typical ‘sleeping in a car and now I’m a millionaire story,’ we hear so much of in this industry, it just has to be as real as possible so people can relate. For me, I never saw this coming!
I love my brother, parents, girlfriend, friends, and extended family. From a young age, I had many small businesses and I developed a passion for creating events to bring people together. I’ve participated in, promoted, and created music festivals, sporting events, and celebrations of all sizes. Originally from Pittsburgh, I’m die-hard sports fan that bleeds Black & Gold. After high school, I wanted to be a photojournalist for Snowboarder Magazine before having new adventures and discovery (of that you’d want your kids to have & many I won’t utter here), at the Pennsylvania State University.
Really what that means is, every soul is different and I was the kid who needed the encouragement and coaching to ‘man-up’ and go through all the newspaper writing course requirements to live my dream. I never really had anybody push me to pursue my hobbies and passions. I grew up around constant worrying as that’s what their parents modeled for for mine. They did the best they knew how to, which I absolutely love, appreciate, and except them for.
So I decided that I didn’t push the limits enough in high school, which was true, and so instead of focusing on pursuing my dream, I wanted to travel, party, get inspired, make money, ……and get a .9 GPA my Freshman year at Penn State. Yes, you read that correctly; a .9 ! Many have said, “dude you have to try to do that bad!” All I can say is scattered focus equals scattered results and I was the kid who needed to go see the world, get inspired, meet some people, figure out what I really wanted and what else was possible, and THEN go to college. If kids are ready and they know what they want to do, great…go for it and have a great life experience. I wasn’t that guy.
After hanging out with some of the wrong crowd, almost getting into trouble, and having some clarifying life experiences, I began to straighten out my life, get good grades, internships, and commendable school activities I was recognized for. What I didn’t realize was that instead of following my dream for the creative side of communications with photojournalism (which I am so grateful for now in this industry now that I blog), I got seduced into the college job myth and corporate side of communications. After my first couple cable and radio sales classes, I began to believe that to ‘make it big time,’ I required to become a National Radio Sales Rep. I still enjoyed being a Penn State Soccer Club player and PSU Climbing Team Leader, but my other passions were slipping away because of ‘survival mode’ programming, like so many of us; doing what we think we have to do to survive instead of going for our dreams, taking risks and thriving. College teaches you J.O.B. skills, owning a business teaches you life skills.
After being recruited straight out of college to be a National Radio Representative for one of only two pretty prestigious national radio representation firms, I had some events in my life that lead me back to believing in a power greater than me, discovering different practices of yoga, and ultimately peeling off the layers to discover the Self again.
A year and a half trading my time for dollars at that job, which was pretty darn cushy (two hour lunches, my own wing of the suite) I really started to feel empty. I felt like I wanted more out of life than being another one of the herd that gets on the train in the morning, sits in an office nurturing client relationships all day, having a salary cap, and getting paid what the job was worth. Maybe you can relate???
Aside from truly being rebellious and psychologically unemployable, I really longed to come from a place of contribution & selfless service, and a year and a half into my tenure there, I decided I wanted to go back and become a college professor with the intention of assisting young people over the hurdles that I struggled with. I really wanted to fulfill my purpose. That’s why this is Power Purpose Marketing. When somebody’s authenticity and their true purpose collide…watch out! That’s what I want for all of you.
I was feeling that spark of inspiration and purpose again. When I told my circle of influence of my dream, a family member said, “What if you don’t get in???” Well after growing up and being taught by example to focus on what you DONT want to happen to happen instead of on what you DO want, I surely didn’t begin to break this lifestyle habit here. This is why I’m so grateful for all my millionaire mentors now who’ve shown me that you love your family, but choose your friends. Environment is stronger than willpower. I bet you can guess what happened next! : )
After failing miserably on the math portion of the GRE exam I obviously wasn’t able to get into Grad School and either could study all over again or go back to being one of the herd. Believing the dream was too good to be true and having nobody encouraging me to try again, I found myself back in corporate America doing marketing and business development with a friend who’s company was looking to go public. It never happened, I once again lost my passion, and left.
Somehow, the entrepreneurial spark came back into my being and I began dabbling in a side business doing resume prep and interview coaching. I was great at showing somebody how to sell themselves and get the position with posture, just as I did. Now a days, its great to show qualified people how to do more then just sell themselves into somebody else’ dream; a place called a job.
Once again not having the guts or support to go full time with it, I found a part of the business world that still was ‘secure’ but moved into a more entrepreneurial model of making your own schedule and six figure incomes. This was medical device sales and once again I was great at getting the appointments and getting hired.
I crushed the interviews and they were waiting for a regional position to open up which would’ve afforded me high five figure salary and six figure income after commissions. Months before this I had prayed for something or someone to show up in my life to give me a purpose where I could live my passion, have fun assisting thousands, truly do lucrative work selflessly. It was during this limbo period that a friend showed up with a system of products I had already been studying as yoga student and student of cleansing. She asked me if I had gotten hired yet and wondered if I was open to doing her system and owning my own business. It was then that everything that was manifesting became apparent; something I had wished for to take my body and mind to ecstatic states also showed up in my life as a new business opportunity! WOW…I was so floored and I new I had arrived. Every I pick a word out of a box of 100 little cards with virtues on them. That day I got the word ‘Trust.’ I haven’t gotten it since in 3 years.
Fast forward almost 3 years later, having gone through intense personal development to change my 9-5 habits and character flaws that wouldn’t serve me as an entrepreneur leading a team, I have truly discovered whats possible and want it for those who are ready to live their life on purpose. Going back I would never recommend anybody start the way I did and so I am putting my best foot forward giving you my learning curve to avoid all the unnecessary traps in creating the lifestyle you desire.
This journey and specifically the group I work with online and offline now has me in the position where I’m living life on purpose, traveling, playing, and sharing experiences with so many like minded friends I consider to be family. Because of who our company is attracting, its even gotten me the opportunity to experience the staff training inside Anthony Robbins’ Business Breakthroughs International by assisting CEO’s to double sales a few hours a day!
